Typical lessons are 1 hour per week. I administer a free diagnostic test to evaluate the expertise of the speller before beginning lessons. The diagnostic test will be used to determine the general level of the speller and create a personalized plan for the speller.
My lessons have a focus on roots, language patterns and vocabulary. These are all very important parts of being a speller because the aforementioned areas are extremely helpful in figuring out words. I assign weekly homework for the speller to complete in a timely fashion. I focus on the speller’s trouble spots and review any missed words with the speller.
Close to competitions, I will conduct mock-bees in order to prepare the speller for the competition.

Great job to all of my tutees for making it to the 2019 Scripps National Spelling Bee!
Christopher Serrao and Nicholas D’sa made it to the night finals of the Scripps National Spelling Bee which airs at 8:30 pm EST.
Much congratulations to both of them, Nicholas placed a solid T-12 and Christopher was one of the Champions of the 2019 Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Congratulations to Sharanya Chatterjee to making it Round 3 of the Scripps National Spelling Bee in just her first year!
